- QUESTIONS FOR
THE RIDE HOME
- The Most Holy
Body and Blood of Christ
The final lines of today's Gospel contain a
stark contrast. Jesus offers his followers the ultimate gift,
the gift of himself in his own body and blood. In their joy,
they go forth singing. The contrast lies in the place where they
are going, as the Mount of Olives will be the place where Jesus'
cruel suffering begins and culminates in his death on the cross.
Adults: How does the gift of the Eucharist help
me face struggles in my life?
Children: How can I remember to thank God throughout
this week? MISSION TO SERVE UPDATE

FOOD FOR THE POOR
Please welcome Reverend Louis M. Papes
this weekend; he will be speaking at all the Masses about Food
for the Poor.
Father Papes will share what he has witnessed
about Food for the Poor's mission to care for the destitute as
a means of living out the Gospel mandate to love one another. THANK
YOU!!
A week ago we celebrated our annual Graduation
Mass of Thanksgiving. The Mass was as meaningful as always with
beautiful music provided by Newman students. Both the Mass and
reception were well-attended by students, their families and
several parishioners.
- A huge
THANKS to members of our "goody baking ministry"
for the wonderful sandwiches, cookies, brownies, veggies and
fruit and all the other yummy treats they provided for the reception.
You all perform a vital role of welcoming and hospitality at
our events; thank you!
- PRAYER FOR FATHERS
St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste husband of Mary, you
passed your life in loving fulfillment of duty. You supported
the holy family of Nazareth with the work of your hands. Kindly
protect those who trustingly come to you. You know their aspirations,
their hardships, their hopes. They look to you because they know
you will understand and protect them. You too knew trial, labor
and weariness. But amid the worries of material life your soul
was full of deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy
with Gods Son entrusted to you and with Mary, his tender
Mother. Assure those you protect that they do not labor alone.
Teach them to find Jesus near them and to watch over him faithfully
as you have done.
--Pope John XXIII (from Catholic
Online Prayers)
