- QUESTIONS FOR
THE RIDE HOME
- 15th Sunday
in Ordinary Time
As he sent the Twelve off to drive out unclean
spirits Jesus instructed his disciples, "Wherever you enter
a house, stay there until you leave the place. If any place will
not welcome you or they refuse to hear you, as you leave shake
off the dust that is on your feet as a testimony against them"
(Mark 6:10-11).
Adults: How does Jesus' approach to resolving
conflicts compare with my own ways of dealing with serious disagreements?
Children: How do I deal with conflict with
my friends in a Christian way?
- CONGRATULATIONS!!
- BAPTISM
We welcome with great joy these
children newborn through the waters of Baptism: Samuel
Milazzo, son of Paul & Laura Milazzo; and Olivia
Marie Dorst, daughter of David & Amy Dorst. Both
babies were baptized this weekend.

Well, we have been back for two weeks now,

so many life and faith lessons from this trip. This trip has
inspired all of us to put our own lives into perspective and
to do more to make our own community a better place.
Thank you so much for your constant love, prayers,
and support. We appreciate everything that you have done for
us. We truly could not have done any of this without your help!

Roe v Wade, the Supreme Court decision that
essentially legalized abortion on demand for all nine months
of pregnancy, has long been considered to be poor constitutional
law, even by those who support its outcome. U.S. Supreme Court
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a Roe supporter, states, "it
would have been a more acceptable judicial decision if it had
not gone beyond a ruling on the [state abortion law] before the
court. Heavy-handed judicial intervention was difficult to justify
and appears to have provoked, not resolved, conflict." National
Catholic Register, 2-26-3/4/04 editorial, "Lone Ranger's
Last Stand." PEACE & JUSTICE COMMITTEE
Since peace is based upon good order,
it follows that, for empires as well as individuals, concord
should have her principal foundation in justice and charity.
- Pope Leo XIII
Pope Paul VI reminded us: IF YOU WANT PEACE,
WORK FOR JUSTICE. Convinced of the truth of this, the annual
Pax Christi USA gathering has as its theme: GODS PEOPLE
CAN WAIT NO LONGER: TWENTY YEARS SINCE [The US Bishops
document] ECONOMIC JUSTICE FOR ALL. July 28-30, (Friday
eve to Sunday noon) 2006, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA.
Join hundreds of Catholic Peace and Justice activists such as
Mexican-born Bishop Gabino Zavala of Los Angeles, Fr. John Rausch
of The Catholic Committee of Appalachia, Chris Marston of the
AFL-CIO, and Donna Toliver, of the Campaign for Human Development.
A two-day retreat for Young Adults (age 18-30) on the same theme
will precede the meeting. Info at: Tel 814-453-4955 ext 231 &
