- QUESTIONS OF THE WEEK
30th Sunday of Ordinary Time
- Then Jesus said to him,
What do you want me to do for you? The blind man
said to him, My teacher, let me see again. Jesus
said to him, Go; your faith has made you well. Immediately
he regained his sight and followed him on the way. (Mark 10:51-52)
- Adults: What are the blind spots that keep me from seeing
the humanity of my neighbor?
- Children: If I was blind and asked Jesus to
heal me, what is the first thing that I would want to see?
WORLD MISSION SUNDAY
Thank you for your generosity on World Mission Sunday! Our parish
offered $319.00 to the Propagation of the Faith for the missionary
work of the Church. This is a real blessing for the Missions!
Please continue to pray for missionaries -- and for the people
to whom they bring the Good News of Jesus. May God
bless you for your generous missionary spirit! The
latest LIVING FAITH issue is now available. Come to the
Gathering Space to pick up one of these FREE prayer and reflections
booklets.
- On the Feast of All Saints,
we honor those men and
women who -- whether theyve been canonized or not -- have
led lives of heroic virtue that set an example for all Christians.
They have truly witnessed to their faith. Although no two saints
are alike (just as no two people are exactly alike), there are
certain qualities that they all share.
This day is the harvest homecoming of the church. Through the
image of autumns ingathering, we celebrate and honor the
saints.
Halloween is the night of October 31. The word means Hallows
Eve. Hallows is another word for saints. November
1 is All Saints Day. November 2 is All Souls Day.
Together these days once were call Hallowmas.
So Halloween isnt just the way we end October. It also
is the way we begin November. On Halloween night -- the holy
eve of All Saints Day -- we begin the churchs month
to remember the dead.

LIFE
One of the statements heard over and over by those in
post-abortion ministry from those who have aborted their children
is, I cant believe I did this. How could I have paid
for them to kill my child? Heartbreaking but compelling
testimony to the truth that in every abortion there are two victims
-- mother and child. (Theresa Bonopartis in Partners for Life
newsletter, 11/05) DIVORCECARE MINISTRY (DCM)is

11-12 Habitat Collection.
For many years, Christ the King University Parish has been a
partner in the Habitat for Humanity Faith Build Coalition for
Athens County. We also have many members of the parish who are
very active on several of the committees for Habitat. In addition,
we have supported Habitat through our parish Lenten offerings.
For some reason, parish particip ation this past Lent was not
consistent with our recent efforts to help the poor and homeless
and we were far short of our goal of $2,000.
Envelopes for this collection are in the Gathering Space and
at the small bulletin board. Please help.
Cards & notes can be sent
to Marge Ruman at Crestview Nursing Home, 957 Beck's Knob Road,
Lancaster.
