- QUESTIONS OF THE
WEEK
30th Sunday of Ordinary
Time
-
- With his response to the
scribe about the first of all commandments (see Mark 12:28b-34),
Jesus basically repeated the law that the Jewish people knew
was written in Deuteronomy and Numbers. But Jesus adds a twist
in two ways. First, the law is not external but is written in
the hearts of believers. Secondly, living this law of love makes
the Reign of God visible on earth.
-
- Adults: How
does my love of god spill out in my relationships with other
people?
-
- Children: How can I show God's love to people around me?

Please visit the Catholic Conference website for information
about the various issues on the ballot this year from the perspective
of our faith. It is informative, challenging and non-partisan.

11-12 Habitat Collection
For many years, Christ the King University
Parish has been a partner in the Habitat for Humanity Faith Build
Coalition for Athens County.
- We also have
many members of the parish who are very active on several of
the committees for Habitat. In addition, we have supported Habitat
through our parish Lenten offerings. For some reason, parish
participation this past Lent was not consistent with our recent
efforts to help the poor and homeless, and we were far short
of our goal of $2,000.
Envelopes for this collection are in the Gathering
Space and at the small bulletin board. Please help. RESPECT
LIFE
As we exercise our precious right to vote this Tuesday,
we would do well to remember that if a candidate is wrong on
abortion, no matter how right they may be on other issues, such
a candidate cannot be supported. To permit abortion but to cry
out for the right to work, education, etc. is to say that these
rights belong to some people but not to all. They obviously do
not belong to those who were snuffed out by abortion. --Fr. Frank
